Job Title: Classroom Aide
Location: Hope Lutheran Church & Preschool, Hastings, MN
Employment Type: Part-Time

Position Summary:
The Hope Christian Preschool Aide supports the lead teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and Christ-centered learning environment for young children. This role assists with daily classroom activities, promotes age-appropriate development, and helps integrate biblical values and teachings into the preschool experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and classroom activities
• Help create a loving, Christ-centered atmosphere that reflects Christian values
• Supervise children during classroom time, playtime, meals, and rest periods
• Support children’s social, emotional, physical, and spiritual development
• Reinforce positive behavior using kindness, patience, and biblical principles
• Help with classroom setup, cleanup, and organization
• Assist with arts and crafts, storytime, and learning activities
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times
• Communicate respectfully and effectively with teachers, staff, and parents
• Participate in prayer, Bible stories, and faith-based activities
• Maintain cleanliness and follow health and safety guidelines

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (early childhood coursework preferred)
• Experience working with young children (preschool or childcare setting preferred)
• Basic understanding of child development
• A personal commitment to the Christian faith and values
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff and follow directions
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, compassion, and a positive attitude

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and move actively throughout the day
• Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors
